The Importance of Body Language
My boys and I mowed a nice big track out in one of our pastures. We also made a smaller, oval track to use as a warm up area. I wanted to mow the track because we have a lot of old irrigation ditches, gopher holes and rocks in our pastures and I want to be able to see these hiding in the tall grass. New Comfy Fit Harness Parts!
Whoot whoot! My new saddle and bridle and a bigger girth (for my very ‘mature’ mare Sky) came in the mail today! I was so excited. I spent quite a bit of time just sitting and looking them over. I brought in my old harness parts and pieced the harness together, put the bit and the reins on the new bridle and just admired it all. The Breast Collar
Next up on the list of harness parts is the breast collar. There are a few types of breast collars and I happen to have 3 of them! So I’ll go through each and talk about pros and cons. The Cart – Step Three!
Today. Was. AWESOME!!! I had a busy day, running to town, then walking the dogs (we walked 4 miles!) then working on Bonnie, oiling and massaging her, trying to help her manage the pain, then harnessing Sky and driving down the road!!! Welcome 2017!
Every year I sit down and go back over the previous year. I think about what I want to make happen in the new year and settle on a “Word of the Year.” In 2015 my word was Inspire. My One Horse Open Sleigh!
I have been looking online for the perfect vehicle that my ponies can pull me in this winter and many winters to come. We get a lot of snow, but we also get a lot of wind which can clear the snow off the road (or pile it 6 feet high sometimes!) therefor sleigh runners on my cart will not work. What can I do with my miniature horse?
Though miniature horses are small, they are mighty! It surprises people when they find out how much weight a miniature horse can pull over flat ground in a well balanced cart or wagon.
